About the coach
I am not going to tell you I was always lean.
I am Aaliyan. I am five foot six, I am brown, and I grew up eating the same food you did at the same dinners you get dragged to.
For a long stretch I was working eleven hour days, doing my share of the housework at home, and still getting myself into the gym. Nobody handed me a schedule that survived that. Every plan I found assumed I had an empty afternoon and a kitchen nobody else cooked in.
So I built one that survived a real week. That included the dinners where saying no is not really an option, and the weekends where the food is not up to you.
What I actually coach
The plan was never the missing piece.
You can get a good training program free in about four minutes. If a program was all you needed you would already be lean.
What you did not have is someone adjusting it every week against what your body actually did, and someone dealing with the reason you stopped in week three. That reason is almost never discipline. It is usually that you decided a long time ago what kind of body you were going to have, and you have been training like someone who believes it.
So the calls are not only sets and reps. We go into what is still sitting there from years ago, how you carry yourself, how you handle a setback without writing off the next two months. The physique is the proof that it worked. It is not the whole product.
Why South Asian men specifically
Because the standard advice was not written for us.
The food is not optional
Roti, rice and whatever gets served at the family party are not a cheat meal you can schedule around. Any plan that starts by deleting them is a plan you will quit.
Famine adapted bodies
Our bodies are built to hold fat through scarcity. Crash dieting makes that defence stronger, which is why the harder you cut the worse it tends to go.
Different frames, different lifts
Some movements do very little on a frame like yours. You have probably been giving whole sessions to exercises a much bigger guy told you were essential.
